What is your favorite sounds to listen too? Is it rock, piano, easy listening or reggae? I love any type of music but especially enjoy solo piano (thank you Dad). You really should dance like nobody's watching! So beneficial to your soul. Also the endorphins that are produce lower cortisol and a great stress reliever. Bring some more joy into your life and get up and boogie. You will be glad you did!
Play your favorite music for at least an half an hour every day, try and do this when your energy is normally high. Mine is in the morning about an hour after I wake up. If you have trouble walking, using a wheel chair or a walker, if you have arthritis or Fibromyalgia, MS, then just pat your feet, clap your hands, snap your fingers or just nod your head up and down (while smiling), keeping time with the rhythm with all the energy you can muster! As you continue to repeat this simple yet exhilaration movements (dancing) day after day, your strength, metabolism, energy and happiness will increase.
If you can walk, then I would suggest to walk around the room to a great musical sound and always keeping in time with the music at a pace that you are comfortable with. You will grow stronger every day. Maybe lift your feet higher or add a little bounce to your step. These little exercises will work for anyone. If you have had a sedentary lifestyle, it may take a bit for you to regain your sense of balance and awareness off things around you. Dancing is highly motivation but remember not to push yourself too fast at first. Be happy with every small movement you are achieving and get those endorphin's rolling!
